1. Search the Archive

  • Browse our Singles Archive for a possible match.

  • If you find something you love, you can buy it and complete your story.

2. No Match Yet? Submit Your Earring

  • Upload your single earring to our archive.

  • Share a little description and, if you like, its story.

  • Choose to list for matching or for sale.

3. Personal Match Suggestions

  • After you submit, we'll email you if we find mismatched pieces that might pair beautifully with your earring.

  • If you love one, you can choose to purchase it.

4. Wait for New Matches

  • If nothing matches right away, your earring stays safe in our archive.

  • We'll notify you when new singles are added that could be a fit.

5. Listing for Sale

  • If you choose to sell your single earring:

    • Set your asking price.

    • When it sells, we take a small commission to help support the project.

    • You keep the rest.

  • A: No problem at all.
    You can request to remove your listing anytime — just email us at hello@theotherhalf.com.au.

  • A: No — submission and listing are completely free.
    We only charge a small fee if you buy a match or if your earring sells.

  • A: As long as you want!
    We’ll also email you if new potential matches arrive.

  • A: We’ll reach out to both owners privately and offer the chance to sell or exchange — with everyone's consent. If both want to keep their own, that’s okay — both earrings stay archived.

    ✅ Consent and sentimental value always come first.

  • A: Great question! A clear photo helps others connect with your piece. Here are a few tips:

    • Lay it flat on a light, neutral background (like a white table, soft fabric, or textured paper).

    • Use natural daylight near a window — avoid flash if possible.

    • Photograph from above to capture shape and detail clearly.

    • Include a second angle or close-up if it has texture, engraving, or unique detail.

    • Avoid distracting clutter in the background — let your earring be the star!

    Don’t worry about perfection — just share it with care. We’ll do the rest!

  • A: We clean every in-house piece with care to preserve its beauty and story. Our process includes:

    • Gentle wiping with alcohol-based pads to remove surface residue

    • Ultrasonic cleaning (where appropriate) to gently lift dirt and buildup

    • Soft cloth polishing for shine — without harsh chemicals

    • We always avoid abrasive cleaning to protect delicate materials or finishes

    For pieces listed by individual sellers:
    We ask all contributors to clean and prepare their earrings before submission. While we can’t physically verify every process, we encourage sellers to:

    • Use alcohol wipes or gentle cleaning solutions

    • Avoid harsh scrubbing or damage to the material

    • Clearly describe the condition of each piece when submitting

    If you have concerns about cleanliness, feel free to contact us before purchasing — we’re happy to assist!

  • A: Yes — all our parcels are shipped with tracking via Australia Post. You’ll receive the tracking link once your order is dispatched.

  • A: Unfortunately, we don’t accept returns for change of mind due to the unique nature of each piece.

  • A: Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order, with a photo and your order number. We’ll help resolve it with a refund, repair, or replacement.

  • A: Just email us to request one — we’ll be happy to provide a label to make your donation easier.
